While TopLeft doesn’t currently support financial metrics like profitability, it provides budgeted hours and actuals to support operational tracking. We’re actively considering deeper financial features based on demand.
Currently, TopLeft does not include direct financial tracking features such as project profitability, gross margin analysis, or budget-to-actual dollar comparisons. However, many MSPs find that the hour-based budgeting and actual tracking in TopLeft’s project and service boards offer critical visibility into team effort and delivery timelines.
Here's what we do offer today:
-
Budgeted hours vs. actual hours are shown directly on Kanban cards for both service and project work.
-
Roll-up metrics (sum and average of estimated and actual hours) are displayed in column and swimlane headings for at-a-glance understanding of WIP and velocity.
-
These time-based indicators provide teams with an early warning when projects are at risk of overrunning (even without financial data), helping drive more informed planning conversations and prioritization.
We understand that project profitability and financial health are crucial to operational maturity.
We’ve already received requests to expand our platform, such as:
-
Dollar-based project budgets and actuals
-
Profitability reports
-
Gross margin tracking per ticket or project
-
Financial dashboards for leadership
These enhancements are on our product roadmap and may be prioritized based on customer interest. If financial visibility is important to your team, reach out to us. We offer a feature sponsorship program where you can accelerate development and tailor it to your needs.
