By using filters or member swim lanes, engineers can have a clear view of both their assigned work and unassigned tickets that need triaging, making it easier to manage their workload efficiently.
There are two main ways for engineers to see new work that has not yet been triaged:
- Filter tickets: Engineers can filter their ticket view to show only tickets that are assigned to themselves, but also include unassigned tickets. This way, they can see both their own assigned tickets and any unassigned tickets that need to be triaged. This can be done on a board that has no swim lanes, and unassigned tickets would typically appear in the "new" column.
- Member swim lane board: Engineers can work from a board with member swim lanes, where they would have their own swim lane for assigned work, and another swim lane specifically for unassigned work. This way, they can easily identify and prioritize the unassigned tickets that need to be triaged, in addition to their own assigned tickets.
It's generally not recommended to have a board with just a single swim lane for a technician, as it can be less effective in managing and prioritizing tickets.
