Ticket Sync Times Out With ConnectWise PSA

In order to get the latest data from ConnectWise, TopLeft performs regular ticket syncs. In some cases, ConnectWise is unable to handle the number of tickets that TopLeft asks for and the requests fail with timeout errors. To prevent timeouts from occurring, you can set TopLeft to only request tickets from a list of specified ConnectWise boards, not from all ConnectWise boards.

This is most common if you have an RMM board with many thousands of tickets, compared to hundreds of tickets on your service and project boards. You would configure TopLeft to only fetch tickets from your service and project boards.

To select the ConnectWise boards to sync tickets from and exclude all other boards, do this:

  1. In the main menu, click the gear, then click ConnectWise Boards to Sync. If you have many ConnectWise boards, it may take a while to load the next page.
  2. Select the ConnectWise boards from which to sync tickets. To download tickets from all boards, leave the Selected field empty.
  3. Click Save.

On the next regular sync, only tickets from the ConnectWise boards that were selected in the second step will be synced.
